Dreams: Indigo

Indigo is the color in the spectrum placed between blue and violet. When a symbol in dreams, indigo may bear either a positive or negative meaning, depending on the other details of the dream image. When it comes to chromatic symbolism, we should always connect the color with the object, landscape, plant, animal, person etc. to which it is attached in order to achieve a complete interpretation of our dream.

As a positive dream symbol, indigo stands for qualities such as altruism, kindness, generosity, hospitality, readiness to help and support the others etc. When indigo is the dominant color in a dream, it may also be a symbol for one's spirituality and belief in a higher power. By borrowing features from both blue and violet in-between which it is placed in the spectrum, indigo may also denote one's high moral values or announce a revelation, epiphany or simply a happy event to follow in one's waking life.

On the other hand, indigo as dream symbol may also bear a negative significance and illustrate sufferance, distress and deceit. Therefore, a dream in which indigo is the dominant color may be taken as an advice to be very careful about people in the waking life you confide in, as they may turn out to be sly individuals who only aim to feed off you and use you in their best interest. Also, pay attention to undertakings and enterprises you consider entering in the near future, as they may be highly risky.
