Home / Dream Interpretation / Lament

Dreams: Lament

Dreams in which you lament are brought about by the accumulation of negative emotions in your soul. You lament in your dream in order to release all grief and pain buried inside you. Therefore, such dreams should be interpreted as a way to cleanse one's soul of negative feelings and emotions. A large part of lament dreams usually occur after stressful or unhappy periods in one's waking life and they are very effective in 'curing' the soul.

Even if you do not see yourself, but someone else lamenting in your dream, this could also be interpreted as a way to release your own inner grief, as in dreams we often see others as projections of our own self.

If you dream that you are crying but no one around you hears or responds to your pain, this stands for the loneliness and helplessness you feel in the waking life. Such a dream may also illustrate someone's real life problems, worries or frustrations.

If you see more people lamenting in your dream, this may mean that people in your waking life are going to need your help soon.
