Best known as the bombshell, bikini-wearing babe from the romantic comedy '10', Bo Derek will forever remain a legend of the silver screen. But don't jump to any conclusions: her filmography isn't exactly impressive and her acting skills are questionable, to say the least. Yet, she has millions of fans and although she was cast in flop after flop, her career didn't sink - as it happens with so many actresses. The secret? Bo oozes sex appeal and is very lighthearted when it comes to her career.

She was born Mary Cathleen Collins, in 1956, and nothing seemed to foretell her bright future. As a teenager she wasn't exactly ambitious, and although she was blessed with the body of a goddess she thought she will end up selling surf boards. A surf board was actually at the core of her future career, as she wanted to purchase one and didn't have the money. So, she thought to herself she could do some modeling in order to save a few bucks. Soon enough, she was featured in a few ads (including a three-word one!).

Realizing that she might just have what it takes in order to be a movie star, she gave Tinseltown a shot. During one of her auditions, Bo met her future husband, John Derek. She was 16, he was 46. And married. But nothing would stand in the way of their love. So, in order to avoid John being prosecuted for statutory rape, the two decided to move to Germany until she turned 18. Afterwards, they got married and remained together until his death in 1998.

After a performance in the horror-disaster movie (don't you just miss that genre?) 'Orca: The Killer Whale', she was offered the role of her life - in the 1979 comedy '10', where she embodied a perfect-beyond-words bombshell. This was the role that instantly propelled her to sex symbol status and even gained her a Golden Globe nomination. Unfortunately enough, that was more or less the peak of her career, since flop after flop followed. The years to come would bring this sexy thespian 4 Razzy Awards for Worst Actress.

As the years go by, Bo just keeps getting sexier and sexier and she didn't even have anything done - she's just gracefully growing older. As a proof of the fact that she still has it, just think about this: she's currently living with the hot younger actor John Corbett (Aidan from 'Sex and the City').

When she's not driving men crazy with her amazing full-figured body and perfect facial features, Bo is a big fan of horse riding and she even entitled her autobiography 'Riding Lessons, Everything that matters in life I learned from horses'. Apart from this, she is a devoted Republican and has supported George W. Bush in his campaigns.
