Britney Spears is not the most classy of all celebrities out there (in fact, she was just named by "Blender" magazine, that did a very extensive and well documented piece on her that is now running in their latest issue, the worst celebrity of all times) and she has certainly done a lot of things over the past years to make her fans lose their faith in and love for her. But that doesn't mean that she is still not appreciated, if not for her public persona, at least for her career and her many accomplishments...
Nevertheless, if public ridicule and heavy criticism from all sides have left no mark on the former Princess of Pop, nothing can save Britney from Britney herself, a tendency that we could have seen, had we bothered to look for it, back from the days when she was still married to Kevin Federline, former back-up dancer and rapper extraordinaire. Or, if that is not enough of a hint for you, think of the events that took place at the beginning of this month, when Brit Brit lost her mind completely and refused to hand in her two children, which in turn led to a four-hour standoff with the police and that ended with the former singer being wheeled strapped to a stretcher to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
And, with all that, the moment she left the hospital, she was back to her old tricks, shopping, stopping for gas and buys at PetCo and Rite-Aid and driving aimlessly around town. Her mother and father came in town a few days ago, reportedly in order to stage an intervention with her manager and always present sidekick Sam Lutfi, an intervention that would make her see that she needs professional help for her mental issues. So far, nothing happened... or so it seemed until now, when Britney Spears allegedly attempted to take her own life!
Paparazzi agency X17, meaning those guys who are always around her even when she pees in gas stations (and about whom the media claims they might be on Brit's payroll), is reporting that, after staying up for 60 hours and stocking up on Red Bull and coffee (and that, without even counting the bipolar disorder she's allegedly no longer able to control), the trainwreck finally reached the end point of her patience and, pushed over the edge by a yet unknown reason, tried to take her own life. The agency says they now have people over at Britney's gates, waiting for the ambulance that has been called by someone from inside the compound.
Apparently, Britney's mother, father and manager are all now inside the house with the pop star and several police cars have already secured the area. No one knows who made the call or what Britney did to try and end her life (or what might have pushed her to such a desperate gesture), but stay tuned here for more details. We'll keep you posted as the story develops.
Update #1: Britney Spears will be temporarily committed to a mental institution!
Update #2: Britney willingly let herself be put on a gurney and then moved in an ambulance to UCLA Medical Center, where she will be put under a 72-hour watch. The convoy of cars was led by Britney's mother who was sharing the same car with her latest boytoy Adnan Ghalib. Stay tuned here for more.
