The 2008 British Book Awards ceremony was probably the most exciting event that took place within the literary world this year. Not only that there was a strange mix of writers and celebrity-wannabe writers, like former model Katie Price aka Jordan, but the night was all about generous cleavages, and a little malfunction that made everyone curious about what could the mother of Harry Potter be hiding.
The surprising cleavage malfunction came not from Britain's most controversial pair of silicone bags, Jordan, but from the author of the Harry Potter novels, JK Rowling. The writer's waist-cinching purple satin dress refused to behave and practically threw her increasingly voluptuous bust out. She appeared to be fighting a losing battle to contain a chest which was straining at the bust line of her designer gown, at the ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, central London.
Surprisingly, Jordan's printed bejeweled maxi dress with a plunging necklace, in her typically revealing style, wasn't the night's center of attention. JK was, especially when a male companion, who wasn't her husband Neil Murray, offered a shielding hand to cover the nipples in the eventuality that they might have come out of the dress and smiled at fans gathered at the place.
The incident could have been prevented though, if it had been given more attention the moment when she bent forward to sign fans' autographs and revealed a very unflattering and deeply unsexy tan bra. However, this is not the first time the author experiences cleavage malfunctions, as she's been through a similar incident last year while on a book tour in the US. While addressing a group of children, JK Rowling found herself revealing a little more than she would have wanted to, showing her bra to the kids. It seems that this year, in London, history repeated itself, only that there weren't any kids around this time.
