For those who didn't know Katie Holmes is an actress. In fact, prior to meeting Scientologic Jesus Tom Cruise and getting married, Katie was pretty successful and, among the many projects that include her name, probably the most appreciated were the TV series 'Dawson's Creek' and the box-office hit 'Batman: The Beginning'. However, once she became first the fiancée and later the wife of Tom Cruise, all that changed and her movie career came to a stop. Whether the two events were related or not has not yet been established.

Bad mouths say that Tom will not let Katie pursue acting anymore, for selfish reasons of course. They are the same bad mouths that claim that the 'Mission: Impossible' star is doing all that is in his power to prevent his wife from being too independent, a thing that being away on location would certainly enable. I'm saying this because it is relevant to the latest TomKat rumor: apparently, in order to keep Katie on an even shorter leash, Tom is determined to create a production company especially for Katie.

While most of us would go 'Aw! That's sweet!' at the thought, rumor has it that there is more to this than meets the eye: if Tom is the one behind Katie's movie career, he has the final word on the projects she undertakes. What this actually means is that, if Tom puts his foot down and says that X or Y movie is not good for Katie, Katie obeys and does not accept the offer. And, taking into consideration that Tom is said to be against love (or even kissing) scenes where Katie is involved, you can see why people say she's in quite a pickle!

This is how the media covered this whole Tom-taking-full-control-of-Katie's-life thing: 'Tom Cruise is apparently going to help his young wife and mother to baby Suri, Katie Holmes, score some better film roles. 28-year-old Katie Holmes' 45-year-old hubby, Tom Cruise, will be producing Katie's future film projects. Some would say this is just another part of Katie...I mean Kate's life for Tom to take over, but the couple is reportedly claiming that Tom offered because Katie wasn't receiving offers she was interested in.'
