Mischa Barton is not a name everybody's familiar with. Most of us know her as that girl who used to play Marissa Cooper in the popular series 'The O.C' until she was killed off, apparently because she had become impossible to work with. Others know her as that girl who, after being killed off in said show, said that the ratings for the series dropped considerably because she wasn't in it anymore (modest much?). Others, like me, know Mischa for her many public displays of private parts and a reputation of a bad-girl.
However, this actress we've seen so far only in one successful project, claims she's far from the girl we've seen portrayed in the media. Gracing (very Photoshoppedly - I know that's not a word but you catch my drift!) the cover of the latest issue of 'Elle UK', Mischa also uses the opportunity of literally shattering the image we had of her. Apparently, the Mischa we know is only a persona. It's not her, so we'd better start dealing with the idea!
'It is a persona. It's not me. I think, "Who the hell is that girl?" I'm so low-key and chilled. But the media has created a fake "Young Hollywood" where everyone hangs out together and everybody knows each other. It couldn't be further from the truth. I feel so, so different from those girls.', Mischa tries to explain her point, i.e. that she couldn't be any more different from the likes of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.
And, speaking of which, many might wonder if her passing out during Nicole's barbecue party, allegedly from the familiar combination of alcohol and pills, and being taken to the hospital in an ambulance was also part of her 'persona'. Or if her many nipple slips and apparently drunken appearances also fall into this category. Or if the fact that she seems to thrive on the paparazzi attention she gets and that she was snapped partying with Paris on a countless number of occasions could also be included here. I don't know, I'm just trying to understand Mischa's complex 'persona' and to get to the bottom of this obvious lie that the paps helped create.
Anyway. If you're interested in learning how the real Mischa is like, just pick up the latest issue of the mag. I'm sure you'll be enlightened by what you'll find in it!
