Suri Cruise, the baby that stirred up so much controversy regarding her existence, has had her first birthday blowout of her life, as she turned 1 on the 18th of April. And mamma Katie and papa Tom went out on a limb to give their daughter a birthday party fit for a queen. She may be just a one-year-old baby but with all the fame and success of her parents she will probably get used to this kind of treatment.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise organized the entire event in Los Angeles, where Katie is filming her first movie since she began her relationship with Cruise (the production is also featuring Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton and is entitled 'Mad Money', set for release in 2008). Sources say the entire party enjoyed pizza and cupcakes from a famous bakery in Beverly Hills. Another source adds that dragonfly and butterfly piñatas were part of the fun.

And apparently Suri enjoyed her stylish party, as it was reported she played with her father on the lawn, kicking around the ball. In a recent People interview Katie Holmes said that Suri "loves just being outside right now,", that being the possible reason why they got her as a birthday present a gym set for the backyard, plus a stack of books and toys.

Among the guests were a sister and a nephew of Tom Cruise's, together with Holmes' mother, Kat, who flew to California for the event. The day previous to the birthday party, both of Suri's grandmothers - Mary Lee Mapother South, age 70 and Kat Holmes, age 60 - were treated by the girl's parents to an Italian dinner in a Los Angeles restaurant.

Sources say that the day after Katie and Tom enjoyed a chocolate madness at their tot's birthday they both flew to New York to attend Cruises 9/11 Detox Fund Raiser.
